So I am back from two weeks of observing teachers in action within a high school. There was so much I learned from the experienced teachers. What I thought was most interesting was a teacher who was using a smartboard for instruction. I was amazed at seeing how much she could accomplish with the smartboard. It was so helpful for the visual students and also allowed students to become involved with their learning. The teacher would encourage students to come up to the board if they had a question and show the class what steps they took and where they were stuck. This also helps get the rest of the class involved and allows other students to help their peers.
Does anyone know how to use a smartboard?
One of the classes I observed was so loud and disrespectful towards their teacher. This leads me to wonder how can you have classroom management when you have a class that doesn't pay attention? How can you ensure your students will respect you and follow your class rules?
